Tianjin Port
Yes, the port of Tianjin. More coming in a bit…
Since so many people already do the writing with better style, grace and fluency than I use, I'll mostly post my photos here. Have fun, and remember these two keys to the Googleverse: Elevator Ocelot Rutabaga and Omnipotent Panda Cult. If you want to leave a comment, just click on the title of the post. Once on the page for the individual post you can find the link for the commenting. Themes: Sailing, Deserts, Travel, Pictures, Oddities, Colorado Plateau Life, etc…
This is Angel. I found out that she is the perfect canine for my lifestyle. Lots of energy and very social. She likes being with other dogs, kids, people and anything else.

Caught this one north of Abiquiu. Grabbed camera, took lots of shots, cut them down to a few goodies.

Updates are here! I'm sure the new layout has been duly noted, but now I have internet fast enough to allow photos to go up. Of course, this is only while I'm sitting in this hallway at CNM. Ah well.

I'm back in the 505, so I should be getting more done with the Gila Monster, a job, and photography. It'll all be coming soon, so hang in there!

So, just to keep the pics coming, here is one from a couple weeks ago. It's the roadrunner lounge in Socorro.

Sorry, not too many photos going up, but I'm not taking to many now. I'm not doing very much of anything besides running around town in ambulances with my grandfather. He's going on 93, and until now has been in decent enough shape in spite of his advanced age. Unfortunately, the past two weeks have seen him hospitalized from complications caused by antibiotics. He's out of the hospital, but he needs more attention than can be provided by in home care providers. So, he's in a "skilled nursing facility" (rhymes with "old folks home") until he is strong enough to get back to walking around. Unfortunately, his doctor's appointments hadn't been straightened out to be handled by the nurses and doctors at the home, so he has to be taken by ambulance to the offices. It sure is a fast way to beat the lines though, the and paramedics and EMTs are good company on the drive. That's been the going on for a while now, but we need to pay his bills and maintain his house and appease his housekeeper and get groceries. It's somewhat overwhelming, but if (make that a big if) he gets his head straightened out some more he'll be legally lucid enough to sign the durable power of attorney that I just finished drawing up. Otherwise, we've got months of waiting and paperwork to get a gaurdianship granted from the state of Texas.
We may be here a while.
I'm writing this so that my blog may have a chance of "sucking less than most," but I fear I'm just in the persistent journal category. Oh well, someone will read this, and I'll add "Rocky Jeep" to keep my googles up. And even another link to the real rocky jeep.

Ok, so I'm not actually at the butte, and this photo is a whole couple weeks old, but I like it so here is is. Right now I'm up at the cabin, with the parents and a warm cat. More to come later, internet willing.

Look" Another update!
So, now I've uploaded more goodness to flickr, so there's not much to say there. This was taken early one morning (rhymes with towards the end of an all night drive), but still hours away from twilight. The Gila Monster is lit entirely by moonlight. I was driving from Phoenix to Elephant Butte, so I took the scenic route by using US 60. It was great! Especially after 11 when the rest of the traffic had stopped. Once I was past Show Low, there was only another vehicle every twenty minutes or so. From the state line to Socorro I saw all of four vehicles on the road, but I had to stop completely a couple times for elk. They just weren't in a hurry to go anywhere. I saw dozens of them, plus a few deer and hundreds of rabbits. The VLA looks good at night, but the really cool thihg is the way the stars left streaks as the earth's rotation dragged them across the image. It was so still that I could hear that people were talking by the next dish down, and I could hear the whine of the motors as the dish was moved. Gotta love all my stuff from my dorm sitting in back of the jeep.
Ah, that road is a good one.
